ABOUT US

The United Veterans Council of Woonsocket is a coalition of Veteran Service Organizations committed to honoring, supporting, and advocating for all who have served in the United States Armed Forces- regardless of branch, era, or background. Our council brings together the following organizations:
  • Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6342 North Smithfield,
  • American Legion, Post 85
  • Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 12, (DAV)
  • American Veterans Association, Post 7 (AMVETS)
  • Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 818
  • St. Joseph's Veterans Association
  • Military Women Across the Nation
Under a shared mission: to serve our veteran community through advocacy, recognition, and connection.

We honor the dead by assisting the living. We collaborate with the City of Woonsocket and other townships where our organizations that make up the UVC are located. We support a variety of local initiatives and events that foster camaraderie, preserve military heritage, and ensure no veteran or their family feels forgotten or left behind. Whether through public ceremonies, outreach programs, or partnerships with civic groups, we are united in our purpose to give back to those who have given so much. We the Council serve at the pleasure of our Veteran Constituents and continue to advocate for the wellbeing of our veterans that reside within the greater area of Woonsocket.
