The council was officially incorporated as a domestic nonprofit corporation in Rhode Island, aiming to further the causes of various veterans' associations in Northern Rhode Island.

  • Over the years, the UVC has played a pivotal role in organizing and coordinating events that pay tribute to the service and sacrifices of veterans. Notably, the council has been instrumental in hosting annual Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies, ensuring that the community remembers and honors its veterans. A significant milestone in the council's history was the dedication of the United Veterans Council Armed Forces Park on November 11, 2014. This park, located on Davison Avenue in Woonsocket, was established through the collaborative efforts of the UVC, the City of Woonsocket, and dedicated individuals like Eagle Scout Christopher Lepine and Gold Award Girl Scout Jennifer Lepine. The park serves as a lasting tribute to the men and women of the community who served the country in times of peace and war, especially those who gave their lives in service.

Today, the United Veterans Council of Greater Woonsocket continues its unwavering commitment to veterans by organizing events, supporting veteran initiatives, and maintaining spaces like the Armed Forces Park that honor the legacy of service members.
